Barco Clickshare Locking Up

Clients have reported that their Barco Clickshare devices ("pucks") will not join the base station (CSE-200, or CSE-200+). If the Barco Clickshare device doesnt connect to the base station, content cannot be shared from your computer to the screen in your meeting room or video conference.

What’s The Problem?

Clients have reported that their Barco Clickshare devices (“pucks”) will not join the base station (CSE-200, or CSE-200+). It says try to join on laptop with progress bar, but it constantly reloads and doesnt connect. The power button on the device itself is flashing red when being paired. It was reported happening on Macs and PCs.

Why Is This Important?

If the Barco Clickshare device doesn’t connect to the base station, content cannot be shared from your computer to the screen in your meeting room or video conference.

Why Do You Think This Is Happening?

According to Barco tech support, the base station is actually a Lennox machine, and services sometimes go out of sync.

If you have a puck with an older security certificate, the latest firmware could break the connection between the puck and base station. The connection break can also happen if while a user is presenting, the user unplugs the puck without first pausing the presentation.

Recommendation on How To Solve:

One quick fix you can try is to physically power cycle the base station (restart it). If that doesn’t work, try these steps:

  1. Factory reset the base station and re-sync all of the services running on it
  2. If the issue continues, do a firmware re-flash and another factory reset

If these steps do not work, it may be a bad box that needs to be replaced.

Important: It’s always good practice if you’re unsure about the configuration settings of your AV devices, to contact the organization that set the unit up before resetting the device.
